Chateau Avalon Hotel Kansas City, Kansas City

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were clean and had plenty of supplies, but unfortunately, the room I was in was extremely small and did not have the same type of tub as advertised. On the positive side, the service was friendly and accommodating, though there were some issues with the morning staff's attitudes. The location was pretty good, about 10-15 minutes outside of downtown KC on the Kansas side, offering a balance between peace and access to attractions. Dining options were good overall, but pricing was a bit high, and additional charges applied if booked through a third party. The facilities were decent, but amenities outside of the room were lacking, especially considering the high price.

Staying at the hotel was like being transported to a different world with its Mayan temple-like decor, offering a rich variety of rooms. While some updating is needed, the unique ambiance makes it a special place to experience.
